Are you getting ready to take some portraits but don't know how to get creative with your session? The brainstorming, the research, and even the coordinating can be a little overwhelming! But, I'm here to tell you that it's a lot easier than you think. The creativity can show its essence from different factors in your images.
Here are some tips to help you get creative with your photography session:
- OUTFITS - This is a great way to get creative with your sessions as you can coordinate a theme, color scheme, and even have the opportunity for various outfits changes. I always recommend utilizing the outfit change (should your photographer have that as an option) as it's almost as if you had two photography sessions in one.
- PROPS - Props helps add personality to your photography sessions. I've seen quilts used for sitting sessions, a birthday cake, a simple chair, or even backdrops. I had a family photography session where a pony was rented for the images - it was amazing!
- SETTING/LOCATION - The location is a factor that always makes any image stand out. Whether the session is by the beach, near the forest, at home, etc., the location helps elevate the creativity of any images. There are a few things to consider for outdoor locations.
- Do you want the image to schedule during Golden Hour?
- Is the location crowded?
- Does the location have any photography policies or restriction?
